It was almost cool last night . . . Okay, it went down into the 80's inside our house when we went to bed at ten, last night! Hey, you gotta learn to appreciate the small improvements in life. We are blessed because we have almost a certainty that we will have running water in the morning, have a shower, and start the sweating process of the upcoming summer day all over again.
Spent the day out with two of my children and three of our favorite friends. We enjoyed a noisy, happy lunch feasting on our favorite Mexican fare, browsed through the bookstore, and ended the afternoon with frozen yogurt.
Our mutual 'passion' in life is checking out the various frozen yogurt places that seem to be cropping up all over the place. Our main criteria is that they be self-serve. Yes, we will eat ice cream if that is what is available but frozen yogurt shops have such intense, fruity and/or interesting flavors. Honey Dew melon was my favorite, yesterday, followed up by Tropical Mango. If you have never been to one of these places, you come in, grab a cup in the size you want, and proceed to the wall where they have spigots where you can dispense the flavor and amount you want into your cup. Then, you approach the topping counter and have anywhere from 30-50 dry, syrup, or fruit toppings to choose from. The way they determine the price? By weight!
So, no quilting done with the afternoon out but it was a great trade off to be with friends. I did check out a few quilting magazines at the bookstore and have some new ideas to try out.
Praying for a good and peaceful weekend after the noise of the Fourth of July. Sigh . . . Someone set off some firecrackers this morning at six which greatly disturbed out dog. I know this because she has learned to open the back screen door. I found her defiantly sitting inside the door and daring me to make her go back out and fact that noise!
