Where have all our values gone . . . ?

The world, as a whole, is in dire straits, but the United States certainly is opting to be a front runner on bad decisions. You read and think about the problems in the world and it all goes back to a lack of values, a self-serving attitude, a grasp of basic math, and a lack of historical education. The women's lib rabid agenda hasn't helped much, either.

Someone on the radio said that it bothers him more when a woman does something immoral because growing up, the women of the world held the moral compass and people looked to the female reaction. With the onset of women's rights, they have downplayed morality and taken the wife/mother example out of the equation. I know from my own latch key existence that it was easy to use the guilt trip on working parents. When a parent soothes their own guilt with unearned bonuses to the children, they aren't raising disciplined children. We now have that generation voting which has pushed us along the path of entitlement.

I have to wonder how politicians who have been to college and university missed classes in basic math. Don't they balance their own checkbooks? And, if they do so, don't they stop spending when the plus column is smaller than the debit column? Isn't it amazing how they can't apply this formula to the taxpayers' money and just raise our taxes to pay for their pork barrel spending.

And, when the taxpayers' suffer because of the mistakes and misspending of those in 'charge', compensation is the law of the land and the politicians happily cut checks to make up for this and the people who still have a work ethic find themselves subsidizing people who won't work with their hard-earned paychecks.

Complaints from the have-nots has the president agreeing that some people make too much money. So, should the people who are working stop short of using their entire income and just give it away to people who want it rather than people who will work for it? Is this the American Dream envisioned by the Founders of this country. A caller on a radio station said that when he was growing up, people knew that anyone could get ahead with hard work and determination. Now the people who have done so, are labeled as greedy and stealing from the have-nots.

A commentator was interviewing people outside a government food handout program. There was an employment opportunity office across the street but the long line was in front of the 'free' place. One woman admitted that she did have a home, car, air conditioning, television, etc. but wanted help with her food. Another man said he didn't know what kind of checks/help was being handed out but he was up to taking anything for free. He, also, had those basic luxuries of life and was busy texting on his cell phone. It has just come to light that millions of unemployment checks went out to people who didn't deserve them because they were back at work.

Right now, the people working and paying taxes are paying for the mishandling and abuse of our tax money. Soon, everyone will be paying as things get worst and it won't be good. Doesn't anyone worry about when the money runs out once and for all? Education, a grounding in basic math, and parental discipline . . .  it isn't happening. History shows that a free for all existence always ends in the demise of a great nation.

Tea Party Quote . . .

America is a nation that was designed by geniuses and is now run by idiots.

All much too true!
