A Beautiful Coat - great video!

My new, favorite UTube film!
Guarantee you will watch it more than once!

My helper?

Having a kitten in the house is like dealing with a two year old! It is getting so that I have to wait until she goes down for a nap before I can get some things done. She is fascinated by the sewing machine and her favorite place to reside is right behind the action. And, if I'm not at the sewing machine, she goes where I go . . . which is in front of the keyboard of the computer . . . where she is right this minute!

Treat Reminder! Rice Cereal treats!

The holiday season approaches in a rather rapid pace and our thoughts turn towards the kitchen and how to plan for parties and special meals. One easy treat that is often forgotten are the rice cereal treats which I know most all of us grew up. I won't bother with the recipe (unless someone can't find it!) as it appears on most every rice cereal box. My thought is to give hints on how to dress this simple treat up for fun treats in line with the joy of the season!

*Melt some chocolate chips carefully to avoid burning and then drizzle it over prepared and cut rice cereal bars. Before the chocolate can set, sprinkle with colorful decorations which can be found in the baking section at most grocery stores.

*If you can find peanut butter chips, melt them and spread over the tops of cut treats and quickly press into some finely chopped peanuts.

*When you prepare the treats, add 1/2 cup finely chopped dried fruit to the mixture before you press it into the pan to cool.

*Try drizzling with melted white chocolate chips and scattering toffee bits over them before they set.

*For some extra crunch, give some dried banana chips a whirl in the blender to break up a bit and add to the rice cereal mixture before pressing into the pan to cool. Go for a banana split taste and drizzle with melted chocolate.

*Add a tablespoon or two of freshly grated orange zest to the mixture before pressing into the pan to cool.

*Add 1/2 cup chopped pecans to the mixture before pressing into the pan to cool and then drizzle with melted butterscotch chip.
There is nothing more heartbreaking than people disrespecting others because they want babies to all get a chance to live and prosper. With the constant erosion of moral values, it seems that even more horrible events occur in the same of protecting women's rights, reproductive freedom, and choice. I just read this article and just when you think it has all been lowered as far as it will go, the anti-life people dig in even deeper.

I have to believe that going back to a more moral society would alleviate many of these concerns. If people respected the sanctity of marriage, there wouldn't be so many unwed mothers. If women learned to say no, they wouldn't have to worry about 'reproductive freedom'.

I found this report disturbing because people were on their own property and using their freedoms to discuss matters that are close to their hearts and the opposing factions used crudeness, trespassed, and language to state their case.

The Worth of a Debate . . .

When Joe Biden debated Paul Ryan, it was a very uncomfortable procedure because Mr. Biden made it that way. Because of the lack of real context from Biden, people started keeping count of how many times he interrupted Paul Ryan and how many times he flashed the "Joker" grin. It exceeded 50 in each category. The moderator wasn't much help as she was definitely on the liberal side and happy to do anything to push the points to Biden's credit column.

Last night, obama took another turn at debating and while he is a good 'presenter', his facts and tired agendas were the same as always. Again, the moderator was blatantly on the liberal side and did all she could to help obama to the detriment of Mr. Romney. Being a good 'presenter' isn't enough. We met a gentleman who made a living being a Lincoln presenter. He looked like Lincoln, knew how to come across as Lincoln, presented himself as Lincoln . . . but wasn't Lincoln. The incumbent president was good at presenting himself as a viable candidate but deeper reflection would show thinking people that he was not.

It is sad to see the democratic system come down to basing a campaign on lies and then trying to foist lies as coming forth from the opposing candidate. Again, I didn't watch the whole debate. Before it even started, it was evident it was being staged around the president so he would come across in a better light than the last debate. We got the same old agendas that haven't worked the last four years. We got the same statistics that are composed from any math known to man. We just heard from someone who wasn't in it for change that will benefit the country as a whole.

I think that given the biased moderator and the set up of questions from the audience, Mr. Romney came out ahead as someone with new, workable ideas, the best interests of the country at heart, and as a gentleman.
