Told you I was in a sewing mood this week. Again, the fabric only featured two scenes from the Nativity. Although I usually enjoy piecing and appliqueing fabric onto the stockings, this pattern and the pictures lent themselves to a more 'basic' look.
A departure from the religious motifs I've been using for my sewing projects. I was attracted to the stylized angels and it sort of reminded me a bit of a Victorian look. Perhaps now overtly religious but they are still angels!
I really liked the picture fabric I found for this set an only wish it has featured more than the two scenes of the nativity. The shepherds got a bad deal this year! The two fabrics I used only had the Nativity and the Three Kings.
In spite of a late start to the day, I managed to complete ten new Christmas stockings to sell. This is one of my favorite ones as the picture fabric was set off well by the other colors. Just proof I didn't waste my day!
I've dedicated this week to finishing up my proposed sewing projects for my sales site on YahooGroups. I added these Christmas stockings to my photo page, yesterday, and have three more sets to complete today. I enjoy creating unique items for the holidays.
When she was in college, my daughter had to do a science project about pollution and it's effect on fish. Herbert is the sole survivor of said project and has been her pal for the last couple of years. Whatever he went through must have been beneficial as he is almost five inches long and still seems to be growing. Our new kitten hasn't seen him, yet, but I imagine she would not be a match for this fish!
